Teaching
I’m a teacher. I’ve been teaching for 30 years and I love it.
I’ve taught music in early childhood, primary, secondary, tertiary, and adult learning environments across instrumental, vocal, classroom, and ensembles.
I feel strongly about the impact a great teacher, and a great mentor-mentee relationship can have on the learner.
I’m available for conducting mentoring, including 1:1 lessons, ensemble observations, workshops, and conductor development at any level. I work with conductors in education/youth and community, students, and emerging professional conductors.
I offer mentoring and training in:
Nuts and Bolts of conducting
Gestural vocabulary based on musical intention
Video analysis
Individualised posture and movement development
Interpretation and analysis
Score preparation
Rehearsal planning
Communication, clarity, and connection
Leadership
Strategies for reflection, self directed learning, and mindset
—Online or in person—
My approach is as a coach and learning partner
I am trained and highly experienced in effective feedback, transformational questioning, and co-creating a plan of action.
I work in a supportive manner and can be your cheerleader, your coach, and your accountability partner.
